Question by valerie_sawyer616: Is there a difference between certified nursing assistant and certified nursing aide?

I was looking at taking the courses for certified nursing aide, while I work on getting into the RN program. But all the jobs I see posted are for Certified nursing assistants. So I wasn’t sure if they were the same thing or not.

  1. Moon Crystal says:

There isn’t any. The only difference is what the state calls them. For example: in Oregon, they are called Certified Nursing Assistants. In New Jersey, they are called Certified Nursing Aides. However, scope of practice varies from state to state.
